NW 28th Street - Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement - San Antonio, Texas

This project involves the design and reconstruction of approximately 1,500 feet of sanitary sewer ranging in size from 8 to 15-inches. This project was located on the west side of San Antonio between Arbor Place and the intersection of W. Poplar and NW 28th Street. The existing 8 and 12-inch sanitary sewers were replaced with 12 and 15-inch sanitary sewers and a portion of the existing 15-inch sanitary sewer was replaced with a new 18-inch sanitary sewer. Design elements included realignment of sanitary sewers, preparation of Tree Preservation Plans, Traffic Control Plans, design of bore under Delgado Street, utility coordination, preparation of estimate of probable construction cost and construction phase services.
Hot Wells Sewer Main Replacement - San Antonio, Texas

This project involves the engineering service for construction and design for replacement or rehabilitation of 14,000 linear feet of water mains ranging in size from 8 to 12-inches in diameter and 94,000 linear feetof sanitary sewer mains ranging in size from 6 to 24-inches in diameter. This project is located in southeast San Antonio where SAWS was experiencing sewer failures due to age and deterioration or substandard main size. Sanitary sewers were analyzed to determine the best method for replacement or rehabilitation. Construction methods that were considered included replacement by open cut, rehabilitation by CIPP or slip lining and pipe bursting. Recommendations were made based on condition of the sewers from available television video, sewer locations, existing sewer size and construction cost savings based on the street rehabilitation. This project required coordination with TxDOT and submission of a Floodplain Development Permit and associated Hydraulic Report. A Pavement Condition Index for streets in the project area was requested and coordinated through the City of San Antonio.
